Up for sale is another great classic brought to you by Halberd Industries LLC, Classic Automobile Brokerage.
This 1967 Shelby GT350 is a true vintage racer complete with log book and a great story of her history. From robbing a bank in the Hudson Valley to an extensive vintage racing history, you will certainly not find a Shelby with more character.
Like many vintage racers of her day the motor had been changed out several times, but under the hood now is a correct HiPo 289 matched to a top-loader 4 speed transmission. The motor was upgraded with electronic ignition, cross flow radiator, and side exiting exhaust. This great combination reaches the tires through a 389 posi rear. The wheels were upgraded to wider Magster rims to increase handling and grip of the track. For the racing circuit the brakes were changed from power drums to manual discs on all four corners with ductwork installed to cool the rear brakes. The original power steering was changed over to manual steering for more reliable handling on the track. This great ’67 Shelby GT350 fires right up and roars down the road, shifting through all gears flawlessly.
The interior of the car has remained very correct with the exception of a few additions for the track. Simpson harness style seatbelts were added for safety, however included in the sale is a set of date code correct stock belts. While the car had originally come with a radio, it was removed during her racing days. Also included is a new headliner and a new old stock seat that are uninstalled.
The body of this great American Shelby is 100% rust free in every way. The paint on the car was last done in the late 1980’s and is racer quality. To obtain a show quality car it should be redone.
